Please choose carefully when ordering. We have a very robust Returns Policy.

The aim of this document is to be open and transparent with our customers. Read more to find out how to minimise problems when ordering from Shop4Shops.

Why we do what we do

Many large multi-store, national or international businesses have a no-questions-asked, open-ended Returns Policy. But they have high profit margins and the significant costs of implementing such a policy can easily be absorbed.

We too once had a similar policy but, unfortunatly it was too frequently misused by a few customers and we have had to make changes. Unlike those multi-national companies, the profit margins in the shopfitting and display industry are not sufficient to absorb the costs involved.

Yes, we know that you want to be able to purchase our products with confidence. And that is our aim. Our preference is to make sure that you get the right product for the job the first time without delays caused by returns and replacements. We help by providing heaps of product descriptions, product images, dimensions, videos, informative blogs and videos. And we are here to answer any concern you might have before you make your purchase.

You are protected under Australian Consumer Law

Whether you buy products from any online store or from a "bricks and mortar" business, under Australian Consumer Law, those products come with an automatic guarantee that they will work and do what they are designed for. If the product has a major problem you can choose a refund or exchange. Examples of major problems include:

  • The product has a problem that would have stopped someone from buying the product from had they known about it
  • The product is unsafe
  • The product is significantly different from a sample that has been seen in a store or has been described online.
  • The product does not do what the business said it would do, or what you asked for, and cannot be easily fixed.

If you choose to keep the product covered by this law you can ask us to compensate you for any drop in value. If the problem is  not major, we will repair it within a reasonable time. If we do not repair it in a reasonable time you can choose a refund or replacement.

We do not have more than a few requests for returns. Most of those are covered by the law and are usually one of the above-listed examples.

What we do to ensure that our products are not supplied with major problems

  • Check most products when they first arrive to us
  • Check the products again before they are despatched to you
  • Pack your order appropriately in a way acceptible to our freighting companies

What to do if the product has a major problem covered by Australian Consumer Law

Of course we will replace or repair it. No questions asked. And in most cases we will pay for the freight for any replacement. We will arrange for our freighting company to pickup the order.

What is NOT covered by Australian Consumer Law

The Law does not apply to these situations:

  • You received the product you ordered but you subsequently found it cheaper elsewhere.
  • You decided you did not like the product or had no use for it.
  • You misused the product in any way that caused the problem. Or you did not follow the user or installation instructions supplied with the product or are on our website.
  • You knew or or were made aware of the faults before you bought the product, for example if we supplied a shopsoiled or slightly imperfect product at a discounted price.
  • If you purchased the product against the the advice of Shop4Shops, for example, because we did not beleive it was suitable for your intended application.

Under Australian Consumer Law we are not required to provide a refund or replacement if you received the products you ordered but you simply changed your mind.

We are happy to review the above if you believe you have genuine reasons. If we accept those reasons please note:

  • The returns must be approved by Shop4Shops by email before the goods are returned
  • The claim must be received within 7 days of receiving your order and reference made to our Tax Invoice number
  • The product must be unused and returned in their original packaging. They must be in a saleable condition.
  • You will be responsible for arranging and paying for the freight charges for the return. No credit will be issued for the original freight charges to you.
  • A 20% restocking fee may apply.

We are unable to accept returns for:

  • Custom made products supplied as originally specified
  • Products cut to size at you request
  • Products that have been powdercoated at your request
  • Discontinued, sale or showroom display stock
